If You Only Buy One Illustrated Book This Year, This Should Be It!!!
I bought this book for our granddaughter... The writing is suitable for any reader. The boy talks in the vernacular I would expect a 2022 kid to speak , although I am a grandfather, so I am not sure. The illustrations are first rate. This is more than just a cute little story to be read and be tossed on the shelf or to orphan in the library's recycle bin. This is an important tale. It speaks volumes about our current condition. Kids today spend a great deal of time alone. Between the lines , I believe Zevy is telling us about the need for creativity, imagination, self-esteem and maybe most importantly - the ability to be comfortable with oneself. And (minor spoiler alert) the boy plays without a computer, cellphone, or other electronic devices. A wonderful little book to add to your library at home.
